Installing solar panels through HuisAssist

Solar panels are an effective way to generate green energy by using solar energy. They produce energy that you as a household can use immediately. This means that your household emits less CO2. With increasingly better and more efficient solar panels, their energy yields are getting higher and higher and their installation is becoming easier, therefore more affordable.

Investing in
the future

Installing solar panels is a good investment in the future. With solar panels, you can ultimately lower your energy bills and increase your sustainability. Purchasing solar panels is a sustainable investment that will benefit you greatly in the long run. In addition, it has a positive effect on your home value today.

HuisAssist helps find the right specialists to install solar panels. Read on to learn more about solar panels.

solar panel balancing scheme

With the solar panel system, you can easily save energy. The energy you generate is deducted from the energy you consume. This is also called netting. If you generate more energy than you use, this energy goes into the energy grid and you receive a compensation per kWh.

The current compensation per kWh will probably be somewhat lower in 2025. So if you want to take advantage of current rates, it is wise not to wait too long to buy solar panels.

Most energy providers reduce monthly fees if you install solar panels. If you generate more energy than you use, you can even make money from your solar panels.

Earning back solar panels

For 10 solar panels, you will pay about 4500 euros. You will earn this amount back in about 6 years. Installing fewer than 6 solar panels is relatively expensive because the installation costs are very high.

The Sustainability Loan

Municipalities and provinces are introducing the Sustainability Loan to encourage consumers to make their homes more sustainable. With this loan, you can make your home more energy efficient on favourable terms. The interest you pay is 1.60%, the fixed interest rate that runs for the entire term of the loan. Loans up to €7,500 have a 10-year fixed interest rate. Loans between €7,500 and €25,000 have a fixed rate of 15 years. Repayment of the Sustainability Loan is made in monthly instalments. Each month you pay off part of the loan including the interest to the lender.

Costs
Sustainability Loan € 10.0000
Investment € 11.255
Rate of interest 1,6%
Duration 15 year
Per month you pay € 62,53
Cost of the loan € 1.255

Subsidy on solar panels

Solar panel subsidies have continued in a different way since 2023. To make buying and using solar panels more attractive, the government has introduced new financial schemes since Jan. 1, 2023. The national subsidies for consumers have changed from previous years. The process has been made simpler. Whereas in 2022 you still had to reclaim your VAT through the government, since 2023 0% VAT is raised on solar panels. So this is a savings of 21% on the total cost of the solar panels.

Requirements For
solar panels

Several requirements determine how many solar panels you can put down and how optimally your solar panels will perform. Below we have put down the factors based on what solar panels perform well or do not perform well:

  1. The size of the roof: Solar panels are most efficient when facing south. This way, the panels catch the most sunlight of the day. Once this is not the case, it can affect performance.
  2. The slope angle of the roof: The more sloped it is, the better the solar panels perform. Solar panels perform best with a 90-degree angle to the sun.
  3. The amount of sunlight: Solar panels work best in areas where the sun shines a lot. When you have a lot of sunshine every day, it has a positive effect on the energy output of the solar panels.
  4. The cost: Solar panels cost money to install and purchase. Therefore, it is important to calculate the payback period properly. Take into account the purchase and possible maintenance costs.
  5. The guarantee: Make sure your solar panels have a good warranty period. This assures you of quality and reliability. HuisAssist only works with professional parties who can provide you with high-quality solar panels.

Solar panel brands

One of the most important criteria for choosing the right solar panel is choosing an appropriate brand. You have more than a thousand types of solar panel providers. The manufacturer determines the quality and yields of the solar panels. Below are some popular and high-quality solar panel brands:

1. SunPower

The SunPower solar panel currently has the highest efficiency in the market. Where most solar panels achieve an efficiency between 14-19%, SunPower has 19.1% to 22.2%. At the moment, this involves the SunPower series X21.

2. Solarwatt

The brand Solarwatt is a company that specializes in solar panels that, put, use glass sheets to put in between the solar cells. In these solar panels, the solar cells are enclosed between 2 layers of glass. Glass solar panels have a long lifespan and therefore result in high returns.

3. LONGi Solar

The price you pay for a Longi Solar compared to the quality of solar panels from LONGi Solar is very low. In addition, the quality of the solar panels is not much worse than other solar panel manufacturers.

4. Trina Solar

In terms of performance and quality, Trina Solar is one of the bigger players. Trina Solar is a Chinese that supplies solar panels in Europe. This is partly due to its low price and high quality. Solar panels are often chosen over European solar panel manufacturers, partly because the price is very competitive while the yields are good.

Type of solar panels

Poly and Mono solar panels

There are two types of solar panels: poly and mono. Poly panels are blue and a little cheaper than the mono panels. Mono panels are black and stand out a little less. In addition, they generally generate a little more energy.

There are also solar panels with no edge. This looks even better and also prevents accumulation of dirt against the frame. These panels do cost more money.
