HuisAssist compares Dutch home services: one request, prices from several screened specialists. Who we are, what we do and how it works.
HuisAssist is a Dutch comparison service for home services that shows homebuyers, sellers and homeowners prices from several screened specialists in a single request, from building surveyor to notary.
We are not the surveyor, the appraiser or the estate agent ourselves. We are the party that works out who covers your postcode, what it costs there, and puts the prices side by side so you can choose. We have done that for more than 67,000 requests since May 2021.
What HuisAssist does
Every service works the same way: you fill in one request, you get prices from specialists who cover your area, you choose. These are the services you can request today.
Building survey (bouwkundige keuring)
A surveyor inspects the property and puts defects and repair costs in a report. You use that report to renegotiate the price or to invoke the structural-survey clause in your purchase contract. We can usually schedule the survey inside that deadline, even when it is tight. → Compare building surveys
Energy label
A registered EP adviser measures the property and files the definitive energy label with RVO, the Dutch government agency. That label is mandatory when you sell or rent out a home, and a better label lowers your monthly costs and raises your maximum mortgage. → Compare energy labels
Property valuation
A validated appraiser establishes the market value in a report your mortgage lender accepts. Without that report your mortgage application cannot be finalised. → Compare appraisers
Notary
The notary draws up the transfer deed and the mortgage deed and registers the transfer with the Land Registry. Notary fees differ by hundreds of euros between offices for exactly the same deed, so comparing pays off immediately here. → Compare notaries
Buying and selling agent
A buying agent negotiates and bids for you; a selling agent puts your home on the market and runs the bidding. We match on where an agent is genuinely active and on commission, not on who advertises loudest. → Compare estate agents
Mortgage adviser
An independent adviser calculates what you can borrow and which lender fits your situation. Requesting that conversation through us costs you nothing, and advisers who work in English are available. → Compare mortgage advisers
Sustainability
Insulation, a heat pump, solar panels or air conditioning: installers who work in your postcode quote what it costs and which subsidy you can claim. For heat pumps and insulation we include the Dutch ISDE subsidy in the price. → Compare sustainability options
What makes HuisAssist different
You get prices, not a wave of phone calls
At most comparison sites you leave your details and then get called. With us you see prices on a page. Up to five specialists respond per request, and for two out of three requests it really is five.
The first price arrives almost immediately
We do not match by hand but on region, availability and rates from our own pricing data. Half of all requests have a first price within thirty seconds, nine in ten within two minutes. You are not waiting a day for a call back.
We never choose for you
If you do not choose, we do not choose either. There is no automatic award to whichever party earns us the most, and a specialist only gets your job once you point at them. You can withdraw your request at any time.
Free for you, paid for by the specialist
You pay HuisAssist nothing. There is no subscription and no brokerage fee on top of the price you see. We are paid by the specialist who gets your job, which is exactly why it makes no difference to us which of the five you pick.
Everything around one home in one place
Most comparison sites do one thing: only energy labels, or only insulation. We cover the whole purchase and the whole house, so you enter your address and property details once for a survey, a valuation, a notary and an energy label.

The team behind HuisAssist
HuisAssist was founded in 2021 by Youp Strietman and Bart Strietman, after their own home purchase showed them how opaque the market for surveyors, appraisers and notaries is. Prices for exactly the same deed or the same report varied by hundreds of euros, and nobody was putting them side by side.

How HuisAssist works
- You make one request. Postcode and house number, what you need and when. We pull the property type, construction year and floor area from the Dutch buildings register automatically, so you do not have to look them up.
- We match on region, rate and availability. Only specialists who genuinely cover your postcode and can take the job now. Up to five parties per request.
- You see the prices. By email and on your own quote page, with the price, what is included and the company's Google rating next to it.
- You choose. Only then does the job go to that one party. The rest drop away.
- The specialist contacts you to schedule. For a survey and an energy label you can often pick a date straight away.
If a price or an appointment is not right, tell us and we will find another party. You can reach us on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 by phone, email and WhatsApp; we answer email within one working day.

Yes. You pay HuisAssist nothing, there is no subscription, and no brokerage fee is added to the price the specialist quotes you. We are paid by the specialist you award the job to.
Up to five per request. For roughly two out of three requests it really is five; in sparsely populated areas or for an unusual job it can be fewer.
Half of all requests have a first price within thirty seconds and nine in ten within two minutes. You receive the prices by email and on your own quote page.
We check whether a party holds the required registration (for example a registered EP adviser with RVO or a validated appraiser), whether their service area matches the postcodes they claim to cover, and we track their Google ratings. When complaints or returned jobs come in, we adjust the matching or remove a party.
No. You see the prices first and choose yourself. The job only goes to one party once you point at them; we never award automatically.
